The university of Arad or Vlasil Goldis is named after a famous Romanian politician and home to six faculties including medicine and dentistry. The medical faculty was founded in 1990 and is considered a modern, innovative place to study. The six year medical degree is exclusively taught in English. The course is split into preclinical teaching for three years followed by three years of clinical experience. This includes a compulsory 4 week work cycle at university affiliated hospitals, Clinical Emergency County Hospital and the Clinical City Hospital.
