Study Medicine at the State University of Bologna
The medical school was established in 1179. Medicine at the University of Bologna is a 6 years programme which comprises 12 semesters and each student is expected to carry out approximately 1020 hours of internship.The six year programme is taught in English and separated into three sections. The first two years focus on fundamental scientific knowledge such as anatomy and physiology. The second two years consist of patient led care and clinical approaches. The final two years focus on general medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery and pediatrics as areas of study.
Bologna is characterised by its rich terracotta buildings, delicious cuisines and culture. In 2000 it was awarded the European capital of culture and in 2006 was named a UNESCO ‘city of music.’ Its architecture has also been recognised by the world heritage body due to its portioces.
