Study Medicine at the University of Tbilisi
From 2011, the Medical educational programme was established, allowing international students to enroll in medical studies at TSU. In 2020, TSU ranked 452 in the world according to the Round University Ranking. The medical course takes place over six years and combines a mixture of preclinical and clinical study. The university has a relationship with 60 teaching clinics in Georgia so practical elements of the course are easily facilitated.
Tbilisi lies on the banks of the Kura River and was founded in the fifth century by Vakhtang I of Iberia. The city gets its name from the Georgian word tbili which means warm due to the temperature climate of the area. In the 18th century the first printing house was opened in the country and the city produced the first printed stamp for the Russian empire in 1857. Nowadays, Georgia’s capital is an eclectic mixture of ancient and modern styles. Some of the notable sites to visit include Narikala fortress, the Georgian National Museum, Metekhi church, the national gallery and kartlis deda.
