Medical Universities in Hungary
Study medicine at the University of Pécs
The university has many fantastic facilities including The Szentágothai Research Centre where extensive research takes place. It also has ‘The UP Clinical Centre’ which is one of the largest health care providers in Hungary. The course which is taught in English consists of pre-clinical and clinical studies. Pre-clinical studies include a docs on anatomy and the health of the human body followed by pathological processes. This is followed by clinical studies where students have direct contact with patients. In fact, a whole year is spent in wards and on clinical rotation in order to make students the best doctors they can be.
Pécs is the fifth largest city in Hungary, nestled amongst the Mecsek mountains. It is thought the original name of the city was coined as Sopianæ by the Romans which meant marsh, before being known as the city of five cathedrals in medieval times. In 2010,
Pécs was named the European Capital of Culture and is known as ‘the borderless city’. Its university is one of the oldest in Europe, so if you’re looking for tradition this is the place for you!
